BATON ROUGE - Wide receiver Russell Shepard and defensive end Lavar Edwards will play their final collegiate game on Saturday when the pair of former LSU Tigers suit up for the South squad in the annual Senior Bowl.

Kickoff for the North versus South all-star game that features the top NFL prospects in college football is set for 3 p.m. CST and will be televised by the NFL Network.

Shepard, Edwards and the rest of the South team will be coached by Jim Schwartz and the Detroit Lions coaching staff. The North squad will be led by Dennis Allen and the Oakland Raiders coaching staff.

Edwards earned a spot in the Senior Bowl after an LSU career that saw him register 96 tackles, 20.0 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. Edwards played in all 13 games for the Tigers in 2012, starting six times. He recorded 26 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks for the 10-3 Tigers.

Shepard played three positions during his collegiate career - quarterback, running back and wide receiver - and he finished with 565 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He caught 104 passes for 733 yards and five scores from the wide receiver position.

Shepard and Edwards become the 28th and 29th players coached by Les Miles who have been invited to participate in the Senior Bowl.
