Pfyffer Completes World University Games
Communications Student Assistant
Baton Rouge – Luca Pfyffer, a soon to be junior for the Tigers, has completed competition in the 2019 World University Games in Napoli, Italy. Pfyffer competed in the 50, 100, and 200-Yard Breaststroke for his native country Switzerland.
In the 50-Meter Breaststroke, Pfyffer finished in 38th place after touching the wall in 28.96. He finished in a tie for 18th in the 100-Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:01.83 and finished in 18th by himself in the 200-Meter with a time of 2:15.39.
“It was great to see Luca have some positive swims at his first international competition,” said LSU head swim coach Dave Geyer. “I think after his 100-Yard we thought the 200-Yard would be better but that’s the way racing goes sometimes. Either way it was great for him to represent Switzerland and LSU at the World University Games.”
