BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s golf team travels to Austin, Texas, for its third tournament of the season. The Lady Tigers will compete in the Betsy Rawls Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Club on Oct. 9-10. The par-72 tournament, hosted by Texas, will feature two rounds on Monday and the third and final round on Tuesday with a shotgun start each morning at 8:30 a.m.

Last week’s results at the Magnolia Invitational showed great team improvement, including several career-low rounds.

Junior Kathleen Gallagher posted her collegiate low of 68 in the first round and completed the tournament tying her career three-round best score of 214. She had her first top-5 finish of the season, finishing tied for fifth.

In the closing round, senior Claudia De Antonio shot a career low 70, while freshmen Mary Frances Chauvin and Kendall Griffin also recorded the best scores of their young careers, 70 and 73, respectively. Monica Dibildox will round out the lineup for the Betsy Rawls Invitational.

This will be the fifth time that LSU has appeared in the Betsy Rawls Invitational – 1979-80, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1993-94 – and the first time in over a decade.
