NAPA, Calif. – Freshman LSU women’s golfer Kathleen Gallagher put the wraps on her first regular season for the Lady Tigers by posting a top 10 finish as the Silverado Showdown came to a close Tuesday at the Silverado Resort course.

The tournament closes the eight-tournament schedule over the fall and spring and sets LSU up for the Southeastern Conference tournament next on the agenda from Birmingham on April 14-16.

Gallagher, who was on the verge of top 10s twice earlier in the year, got home on the final day with a 2-over round of 74 to finish 54 holes at 3-over 219 (72-73-74), good enough to move up one spot to a T10 finish. Cathleen Santoso, the first-round leader from Oregon, posted a 1-under 71 to get back to the top and win the tournament by one shot over Stanford’s Lauren Kim at 5-under 211.

The Mississippi native was able to play the par 5, in 3-under for the competition to help her score get home in the top 10.

As a team the Tigers fired a 15-over 303 to finish at 31-over par for the event at 895 (293-299-303), posting an eighth-place finish in the field of 18. Stanford went wire-to-wire with the victory at 1-over par 865 (286-285-294) and that was 13 shots clear of Oregon at 878.

Elise Bradley, the senior from Mandeville, and Baton Rouge sophomore Sydney Cavin, both posted counting rounds of 76 on the final day, while Swedish freshman Marina Hedlund posted a 5-over 77. Hedland ended up with a T28 finish at 7-over 223 (72-74-77), while Bradley had rounds of 74-75-76 to finish at 9-over 225, T37.
