Super Regional at 'The Box' to Begin Saturday

BATON ROUGE -- LSU Baseball (40-24) will play host to Florida State (39-21) in a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional starting Saturday at 2 p.m. CT on ESPN in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.

Game 2 of the series will begin at 5 p.m. CT on Sunday on ESPN2, with the "if necessary" Game 3 on Monday at 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

The winner of the Super Regional advances to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

Super Regional all-session ticket booklets go on sale to the general public on Friday at 8 a.m. CT.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.LSUtix.net over the phone at 225-578-2184 or 800-960-8587, or in person at the LSU Ticket Office in the Athletic Administration Building.

The eight super-regional hosts were announced today by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee.

The following four super regionals will be played Friday, June 7, Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9 (if necessary).

The national seed is indicated before the team name, while updated records through the regionals are in parenthesis.

The determination of the Men’s College World Series order of first-round games both Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16, will be announced Monday, June 10. The ESPN family of networks and www.NCAA.com/cws will release the CWS game dates and times as soon as they are available.

The College World Series begins play Saturday, June 15, at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.
