Former Tigers Set for MLB Division Series

BATON ROUGE, La. – Four former LSU players will participate in the 2018 Major League Baseball Division Series that begin this week.
The former Tigers who are on active MLB playoff rosters include second baseman DJ LeMahieu of the Colorado Rockies, third baseman Alex Bregman and right-handed pitcher Will Harris of the Houston Astros and right-handed pitcher Kevin Gausman of the Atlanta Braves.
The Rockies defeated the Chicago Cubs, 2-1, in 13 innings on Tuesday in the National League Wild Card game to advance to the Division Series, where they will meet the Brewers in Game 1 on Friday in Milwaukee.
The Astros open an American League Division Series on Friday in Houston against the Cleveland Indians, and the Braves begin a National League Division Series on Thursday in Los Angeles against the Dodgers.
LeMahieu, a two-time National League All-Star, batted .276 in 128 games during the regular season with 32 doubles, two triples, 15 homers, 62 RBI and 90 runs scored.
Bregman hit .286 in 157 regular-season games for the reigning World Champion Astros with 51 doubles, one triple, 31 homers, 103 RBI, 105 runs and 10 stolen bases.
Bregman, who was named the All-Star Game MVP in July, led the Astros in runs (105), hits (170), doubles (51), homers (31), RBI (103), walks (96), on-base percentage (.394) and OPS (.926), and at 24 years old became the youngest player in Astros’ history with a 30-homer season. He was named the Astros' Most Valuable Player for 2018 in voting by the Houston chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
Harris, a 2016 American League All-Star, has made 61 appearances this season out of the Astros’ bullpen, recording a 5-3 mark with a 3.49 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 56.2 innings.
Gausman, who began the 2018 season with the Baltimore Orioles, was traded to Atlanta on July 31. He has made 10 starts for the Braves, posting a 5-3 record and a 2.87 ERA in 59.2 innings with 44 strikeouts.
