OMAHA, Neb. -- LSU senior pitcher Louis Coleman has been named to the 2009 Baseball America magazine first-team all-America squad, marking his third designation as a first-team all-American this season.

Coleman has also been touted as a first-team all-American by Collegiate Baseball magazine and by Rivals.com.

Coleman, a right-hander from Schlater, Miss., was voted the 2009 Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Year by the league coaches.

Coleman is 13-2 this season with a 2.74 ERA in 115 innings. He has recorded 19 walks and 125 strikeouts and opponents are batting just .216 against him.

Coleman worked one scoreless relief inning Saturday in LSU’s 9-5 win over Virginia in its College World Series opening game. He is the Tigers’ scheduled starting pitcher for their CWS matchup with Arkansas at 6 p.m. Monday in Rosenblatt Stadium.
