BATON ROUGE – With one more meet before traveling to the 2018 Southeastern Conference Championship, the LSU gymnastics team remained at No. 2 in the third edition of the Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) rankings, RoadtoNationals.com released Monday.

The Tigers’ RQS moved to 197.755 after the squad posted a 197.575 on the road against No. 25 NC State Friday night.

The RQS is ascertained by taking a team’s top six scores – three of which must be from road/neutral meets – dropping the high score and averaging the remaining five scores.

LSU’s meet scores counting toward its RQS are: 198.075 at GymQuarters Invite, 197.575 at Georgia, 197.575 at NC State, 198.175 at home against TWU, 197.450 at home against Alabama and 198.100 against Auburn.

The squad must drop the 198.175 against TWU as it’s the highest of the six. The remaining scores average out to 197.755 for second in the nation behind Oklahoma. LSU is in front of UCLA with a 197.725 for third and Utah with a 197.415 for fourth.

In the event rankings, the squad owns the top spot on bars and floor. LSU is also ranked third on beam and fifth on vault.

Five LSU gymnasts rank in the top-25 of at least on event with senior Myia Hambrick and junior Sarah Finnegan owning the top spot on floor and bars respectively.

The second-ranked Tigers compete for the final time in the regular season at 4 p.m. CT Saturday against Arizona.
