BATON ROUGE -- Coming off its sixth-straight win with a solid score, the LSU gymnastics team jumped two spots to No. 4 in the latest national rankings released by GymInfo Monday.

LSU (13-2, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) dominated Centenary Friday by defeating the Ladies, 196.650-192.400, and the Tigers were able to drop the 195.300 they scored at Auburn back in January and replace it with the score against Centenary to increase LSU’s regional qualifying score to 196.760.

Georgia retained the No. 1 ranking with a 197.255 RQS followed by Utah at No. 2 with a 197.030 RQS. Stanford was third with a 196.825 score, LSU was fourth and Alabama rounded out the top five at 196.720.

All seven SEC teams were ranked again this week as Florida was No. 6 (196.565), Arkansas was No. 9 (196.440), Auburn was No. 11 (196.390) and Kentucky was No. 22 (195.260).

As a team, LSU jumped up two spots to No. 2 nationally on bars with a 49.330 RQS, and the Tigers stayed put at No. 5 on vault with a 49.275 score. LSU checked in at No. 8 on beam at 49.105, and the Tigers climbed two spots to No. 12 on floor with a 49.135 RQS.

In the individual rankings, senior Ashleigh Clare-Kearney remained No. 3 in the all-around with a 39.515 RQS, and junior Susan Jackson moved up two spots to No. 5 with a 39.475 score.

Clare-Kearney held on to the No. 1 spot in the floor rankings with a 9.935 RQS, and she checked in at No. 3 on vault with a 9.930 mark. She also moved up one spot on bars to No. 5 with a 9.905 RQS.

Jackson has won two straight all-around titles and has moved up in the event rankings as well. The Spring, Texas native climbed four spots on vault to No. 9 with a 9.90 RQS, and she checked in at No. 11 on bars with a 9.885 score.

For the first time this season, junior Summer Hubbard moved into the top 25 in the beam rankings, and it comes as no surprise because Hubbard has scored two 9.90’s on beam in the last three meets. Hubbard checked in at No. 20 in the beam rankings with a 9.870 RQS.

The fourth-ranked Tigers will begin post season competition Saturday at the 29th annual SEC Championship in the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tenn. at 4 p.m. CDT. Tickets are only $15 and are available by calling the LSU Athletics Ticket Office at 225-578-2184.
