Augustus & Fowles Named 2018 WNBA All-Stars

BATON ROUGE – LSU women’s basketball legends Seimone Augustus and Sylvia Fowles have been named 2018 WNBA All-Stars. The 15th WNBA All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, July 28 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Augustus is making her eighth All-Star appearance in her 12 years in the league, while Fowles gets her fifth nod in her 10-year career. Both players are members of the defending champion Minnesota Lynx and will be playing on their home court at the Target Center.
Players in the 22-person All-Star pool were selected by fans, WNBA players and head coaches, and media for the 2018 Verizon WNBA All-Star Game. Under the new All-Star Game format, players were selected for the first time without regard for conference affiliation.
Elena Delle Donne of the Washington Mystics and Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks will serve as team captains and draft the two teams. Teams will be announced on Thursday, July 19 during the Washington-Dallas game on ESPN2 set to tip at 7 p.m. CT. Starting lineups will be revealed on ESPN2 on Friday, July 27 during a live telecast of the WNBA All-Star Welcome Reception in Minnesota scheduled to start at 6 p.m. CT.
