BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU women’s basketball team (14-6, 6-3 SEC) takes its current two-game win streak on the road to face Kentucky on Sunday, Feb. 4. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. CT at Rupp Arena.

Sunday’s game will be televised on the SEC Network, and broadcast worldwide on the LSU Sports Radio Network. Brenda VanLengen and Andraya Carter will call the action for SECN, while Patrick Wright handles the radio duties. Links to audio, video and live stats are available at

This will be the 48th meeting between LSU and Kentucky (12-11, 4-5 SEC). The Lady Tigers lead the series 32-15 and hold a 10-8 advantage in Lexington. However, Kentucky has won four of the last five games in the series, including last year’s 55-42 win in Baton Rouge.

Kentucky is on a three-game winning streak and is averaging 73.3 points per game during that stretch. Junior Maci Morris leads the Wildcats in scoring with 15.5 points per game and a team-leading 49 three-pointers. Kentucky is 25-17 all-time in Rupp Arena and are playing three games this season in Rupp for the first time since 2007-08.

LSU faces a tough road test after two emotion-charged victories over nationally-ranked Tennessee and Georgia. The Lady Tigers’ last three games have been against teams ranked in the NCAA’s Top 16. LSU has seen its rating percentage index (RPI) jump from 61 going into SEC play to 27 following the victory over Georgia, putting the Lady Tigers in the national conversation for an NCAA bid.

The trio of everyday starters Raigyne Louis, Chloe Jackson and Ayana Mitchell is the engine driving the LSU bus through the SEC. The Lady Tigers are currently 12-3 over the past two seasons when Louis, Jackson and Mitchell score 10 or more points in the same game. When Mitchell scores 10 or more points in a game, LSU is 17-6.

Jackson, a top 10 candidate for the inaugural Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, leads LSU with 17.6 points per game. That number jumps to 20.9 points per game in SEC play this season. The junior from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, has scored 20 or more points in seven of LSU’s nine SEC games this season, including a season-high 26 against Auburn on Jan. 18. Jackson is also tied for the LSU lead in steals with Louis at 43.

Louis is averaging 15.7 points per game and bolstering the team scoring with 72 assists on the season. Mitchell leads LSU with 7.7 rebounds per game to go along with her 9.2 points per game. Louis and Mitchell recorded double-doubles in the game against Georgia on Thursday night. Louis also has 5.6 boards per game, followed by Jackson with 5.0 per game.

Redshirt freshman Faustine Aifuwa is making her presence felt in the paint after recently moving into the starting lineup. Aifuwa leads the team with 32 blocked shots and averages 5.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
