Women's Basketball On The Road at No. 15 Missouri

BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s basketball team (8-3, 1-0 SEC) puts its seven-game win streak and 1-0 start to conference play to the test as the Lady Tigers go on the road to face No. 15/15 Missouri at Mizzou Arena on Thursday, Jan. 4. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.


Thursday’s game will be televised on the SEC Network Plus, and broadcast worldwide on the LSU Sports Radio Network and locally in Baton Rouge on flagship station Talk 107.3 FM. Ben Arnet and Jarrett Sutton will call the action for SECN, while Patrick Wright handles the radio duties.  Links to audio, video and live stats are available at


This will be the 11th meeting between LSU and Missouri. LSU holds the series lead, 7-3, and is 3-1 in games played in Columbia. Missouri is led by Sophie Cunningham with 18.2 points per game. Cunningham suffered a knee sprain in Missouri’s 62-56 on Sunday, but is listed as day-to-day.


Last year’s meeting resulted in an 80-71 victory for LSU. The last time the teams faced each other in Columbia, Missouri won, 52-46, on Jan. 28, 2016.


During LSU’s current winning streak, the Lady Tigers are out-scoring their opponents by a +15.7 margin and winning the second half 257-193. Defensively, LSU is averaging 12.0 steals per game while opponents are only taking the ball away from the Lady Tigers 6.1 times per game. In addition to the current win streak, LSU is currently 9-0 when playing in the PMAC.


Overall, senior Raigyne Louis is leading the team with a 16.3 scoring average, followed by junior Chloe Jackson with 15.8 points per game. Jackson was the team’s leading scorer in the recent 85-65 victory over Vanderbilt with a season-high 25 points. Louis scored 21 points in the game for the dynamic duo’s third game of the season to both score 20 or more points. Redshirt-freshman Faustine Aifuwa scored a career-high 14 points against the Commodores, shot over 50 percent from the field and was a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.

LSU host nationally-ranked South Carolina on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, for the annual Gold Game. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be televised on the SEC Network. Sam Gore and Nell Fortner will call the game, with Patrick Wright calling the action for the worldwide radio audience on the LSU Sports Radio Network.


What’s New This Season at the PMAC

Fans are reminded that the Geaux Clear Policy will be in effect for all LSU women’s basketball home games. An change to the policy is the inclusion of diaper bags. Diaper bags must be clear and no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”. Backpacks, including drawstring/synch bags are strictly prohibited.


Fans with medically-necessary items will be allowed to enter the PMAC following a more thorough search at the designated inspection points. The lower level inspection will take place at the southeast corner entrance near the elevator and upper level inspection is available at the S concourse near the Ticket Office.
