BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU women’s basketball team (15-6, 7-3 SEC) takes its current three-game win streak on the road to face Auburn on Thursday, Feb. 8. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT at Auburn Arena.

Thursday’s game will be televised on the SEC Network Plus, and broadcast worldwide on the LSU Sports Radio Network. Brad Law and Joe Ciampi will call the action for SECN+, while Patrick Wright handles the radio duties. Links to audio, video and live stats are available at

This will be the 54th meeting between LSU and Auburn (11-11, 2-8 SEC). Auburn leads the series 31-22 and holds a 14-9 advantage at home. LSU won the earlier season matchup in Baton Rouge on Jan. 18, 59-56, and has won seven of the last nine games in the series.

Auburn is led by junior guard Janiah McKay on offense with 16.3 points per game and sophomore guard Daisa Alexander with a 13.6 scoring average. Freshman forward Unique Thompson is also averaging double figures at 11.1 points per game and is the team’s leading rebounder at 8.9 boards per game.

LSU held off a tough Kentucky team, 72-70, at Rupp Arena on Sunday to move into a four-way tie for third place in the SEC standings. LSU has seen its rating percentage index (RPI) jump from 61 going into SEC play to 25 following the victory over Kentucky, putting the Lady Tigers in the national conversation for an NCAA bid.

The trio of everyday starters Raigyne Louis, Chloe Jackson and Ayana Mitchell is the engine driving the LSU bus through the SEC. The Lady Tigers are currently 13-3 over the past two seasons when Louis, Jackson and Mitchell score 10 or more points in the same game. When Mitchell scores 10 or more points in a game, LSU is 18-6.

Jackson, a top 10 candidate for the inaugural Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, leads LSU with 17.6 points per game. That number jumps to 20.5 points per game in SEC play this season. The junior from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, has scored 20 or more points in seven of LSU’s 10 SEC games this season, including a season-high 26 against Auburn on Jan. 18. Jackson is also tied for the LSU lead in steals with Louis at 46.

Louis is averaging 15.9 points per game and bolstering the team scoring with 79 assists on the season. Mitchell leads LSU with 7.9 rebounds per game to go along with her 9.3 points per game. Mitchell recorded her second consecutive double-double in the game at Kentucky on Sunday afternoon. Louis also has 5.5 boards per game, followed by Jackson with 5.0 per game.

Redshirt freshman Faustine Aifuwa is making her presence felt in the paint. Aifuwa leads the team with 35 blocked shots and averages 5.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
