Women's Basketball Heads to Alabama
BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s basketball team (10-4, 2-1 SEC) will work to start a new win streak as the Lady Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama (12-4, 2-1 SEC) on Thursday, Jan. 11. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
Thursday’s game will be televised on the SEC Network Plus, and broadcast worldwide on the LSU Sports Radio Network and locally in Baton Rouge on flagship station Talk 107.3 FM. Eli Gold and Rick Moody will call the action for SECN, while Patrick Wright handles the radio duties. Links to audio, video and live stats are available at LSUSports.net.

This will be the 58th meeting between LSU and Alabama. LSU holds the series lead, 39-18. Alabama is 13-12 in the series when hosting the Lady Tigers in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide is led by seniors Ashley Williams and Hannah Cook. Williams is scoring 11.1 points per game and grabbing 6.6 rebounds per game, while Cook is averaging 10.9 points per game and leads the team with 29 steals.
LSU has won the last two games between the teams, including last year’s regular season game in Baton Rouge, 48-41. Alabama won the last matchup in Tuscaloosa, 62-45 on Jan. 3, 2016. The teams will play one another again on Sunday, Feb. 25 to wrap up the 2017-18 regular season.
LSU had its 8-game win streak and 9-game home win streak stopped on Sunday, Jan. 7 by then-No. 5/3 Mississippi State. Junior Chloe Jackson and senior Raigyne Louis paired up for their fourth game this season with 20-plus points each. Jackson led the Lady Tigers with 25 points, while Louis scored 20. Sophomore Ayana Mitchell recorded her second double-double of the season with a career-high 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Overall, Jackson is leading the team with a 16.9 scoring average, followed by Louis with 16.6 points per game. Mitchell leads the team in rebounding with 6.8 boards per game, while Louis is second with 5.7 rebounds per game.
LSU has recently found its shot from long distance, averaging 5.3 made three-point field goals per game over the last three games. Overall, the Lady Tigers have 40 three-point baskets made, surpassing last season’s total of 38.

What’s New This Season at the PMAC
Fans are reminded that the Geaux Clear Policy will be in effect for all LSU women’s basketball home games. An change to the policy is the inclusion of diaper bags. Diaper bags must be clear and no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”. Backpacks, including drawstring/synch bags are strictly prohibited.
Fans with medically-necessary items will be allowed to enter the PMAC following a more thorough search at the designated inspection points. The lower level inspection will take place at the southeast corner entrance near the elevator and upper level inspection is available at the S concourse near the Ticket Office.
