BATON ROUGE -- LSU women’s basketball head coach Van Chancellor unveiled a special uniform trimmed in pink that the team will wear in Sunday’s game against Georgia to help promote breast cancer awareness.

The Lady Tigers, ranked eighth in the top 25 polls, host No. 24 Georgia in the 12th annual Pack the PMAC presented by Lady Tiger Depot promotional game. LSU has also joined the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) in the 2008 WBCA's "Think Pink" initiative for Sunday’s game that tips off at 1 p.m. CST.

The Lady Tigers will wear specially made Nike uniforms and shoes that are trimmed in pink and have the pink breast cancer awareness ribbon on them. Georgia will also sport pink uniforms designed by Nike.

The WBCA's "Think Pink" initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA's nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The week set aside for this year's initiative is February 8-17.

“This is for a special cause and we are so proud to be taking part in a big event like this,” Chancellor said. “We hope to draw more attention to breast cancer awareness by getting a big crowd in the Maravich Center with Pack the PMAC.”

Tickets for Sunday’s Pack the PMAC presented by Lady Tiger Depot start at $2 and are available by contacting the LSU ticket office at 225-578-2184 or by visiting www.LSUsports.net.

Fans in attendance at the game will also have a chance to win a Chevy Malibu and other great prizes.
