BATON ROUGE -- Day two of the LSU basketball centennial brought loads of memories to the floor of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center as a group of some 30 former players took to the court one-more time in an alumni game before a crowd of close to 4,000 prior to the LSU-Arkansas game.
The White team won the game played at sometimes breakneck, sometimes crawling pace, 91-76. In all, little defense was played as expected as some 130 shots were taken, including 56 three-pointers.
Unofficial scoring totals showed Ben McDonald led the White team with 12 points while Louis Earl scored 10. Anthony Hudson had eight points. Clarence Ceasar led the Purple team with 12 points, while Duane Spencer had 10. Big Stanley Roberts scored six points, including a monster dunk in the final minute of play.
LSU was to meet Arkansas in the Centennial basketball game at 4 p.m. with the announcement of the All-Century team still to come at halftime of the game.
