Macklin To Join Coach Wade For Tipoff Luncheon Tuesday

BATON ROUGE – Durand “Rudy” Macklin, member of the 1981 NCAA Final Four team, will be the special guest with Coach Will Wade Tuesday, Feb. 6, for the next edition of the Tipoff Luncheon Presented by UPS takes place at L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge.
The monthly gatherings for good food and basketball conversation are open to the public.
Macklin, who also has served for many years as the Director of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, and has organized the very popular Governor’s Games in the state, remains LSU’s second all-time scorer with almost 2,100 points and the school’s all-time leading rebounder. He helped lead LSU to a 17-1 SEC record and the conference championship in 1981 as the Tigers won the NCAA regional championship in the Louisiana Superdome to advance to the NCAA Final Four.
The L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge is located off Nicholson Drive in Baton Rouge and the event will be held at the Bon Temps Buffet. The Buffet in available at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12:10 p.m. The all-you-can-eat buffet is located on the ground floor of the hotel in the casino area.
