ORLANDO – Looking to rebound from last weekend’s Tiger Classic, the LSU volleyball team (2-4) returns to action Sept. 8-9 at the UCF Classic at the Venue on the campus of Central Florida.

The UCF Classic features the host Knights along with Seattle and Florida Atlantic. The Tigers open the weekend against Seattle at noon CT Friday. The matchup against the Redhawks will be on Cox Sports Television. LSU returns to action at 6 p.m. CT Friday against UCF and on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT against FAU.

Fran’s Final Thoughts
“It’s really important for us to trust the process this weekend and find some balance on offense and defense. This is going to be a really well-balanced weekend with UCF, Seattle and Florida Atlantic.”

Series History with the Field
The matchup against UCF marks the 12th between the two teams with the all-time series tied at six. This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2004. LSU’s matches against Seattle and Florida Atlantic are the first between the schools.

Last Weekend
The Tigers dropped three matches in their home tournament to UCONN, Virginia and Southern Miss. After dropping its match 3-0 to the Huskies, LSU fired back against UVA to take a 2-1 lead. The Hoos pushed the match to a fifth set though and ultimately won 3-2. IN the final match of the day, the Golden Eagles and Tigers split the first two sets but Southern Miss powered past LSU to remain undefeated in the tournament.

Team Notes
>> Junior Kelly Quinn made her debut at libero for LSU. She had a strong showing against Virginia and Southern Miss with 48 total digs in two matches.

>> Junior Gina Tillis added another double-double for the Tigers against Virginia when she totaled 16 kills and 18 digs.

>> Freshman Jacqui Armer had a strong showing against Virginia when she hit .455 with 12 kills and just two errors on the night.

>> In LSU’s match against Virginia, Tiara Gibson, Tillis and Jariel Tureaud all had 10 or more kills. It was the first time since 2014 that LSU has had four players with 10 or more kills in a match.
