Tigers Return Home to Face Baylor

BATON ROUGE – After taking home the UCF Classic tournament title last weekend, the LSU volleyball team (5-4) looks to extend its three-match win streak and earn its first win at the Maravich Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Baylor (6-4).

The Tigers take on the Bears on the SEC Network. Courtney Lyle will handle the play by play, while Nell Fortner will serve as the analyst. Fans can also catch the action on WatchESPN.com.

“We are excited to get back home in front of our crowd after a really nice weekend. Baylor is a really talented team. We are looking forward to getting our first win on the new court.”

Weekend Promotions
LSU students are encouraged to get out to the Maravich Center early with the first 500 students getting Geauxld Digger tank tops. All matches are FREE to the public, and fans are reminded of the Geaux Clear policy aimed to speed up gate entries and enhance fan safety.

Last Weekend
The Tigers ended a three-match skid by winning the UCF Classic with victories over UCF, FAU and Seattle. The Tigers’ Khourtni Fears was named MVP of the tournament after hitting over .500 in two of three matches and committing just five errors total over the weekend. Gina Tillis and Tiara Gibson were also named to the all-tournament team. Tillis finished the weekend with a pair of double-double and Gibson notched double-digit kills in two of three matches.

A Look at the Baylor Bears
Baylor is coming off of a 2-1 weekend with wins over Little Rock and Florida A&M and a loss at the hands of Florida State. The Bears are led by outside hitter Katie Staiger who owns top-five rankings nationally in kills per set, points per set, attacks per set, total kills and points.

Team Notes
>> Freshman Anna Zwiebel finished the weekend with a pair of double-doubles. Zwiebel also notched 50 assists against UCF to become the first LSU player since 2014 to finish with 50 or more assists in a match.

>> LSU lost the first set in a win for the second time this season when the Tigers took down UCF, 3-2.

>> Tillis finished the weekend with two double-doubles. Tillis now has five double-doubles on the season and 10 in her career.
>> LSU finished with double-digit kills in all three matches of the weekend.
