Volleyball Plays Host to Ole Miss Wednesday

BATON ROUGE – After picking up two road victories, the LSU volleyball team (9-14, 4-8 SEC) return home to play host to Ole Miss Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. inside the Pete Maravich Center.
The match will air on SEC Network with Missy Whittemore and Melissa Lee on the call. Fans can access the match on the WatchESPN app. Live stats will also be available at LSUStats.com.
Series History with the Field
LSU owns a 58-18 edge on Ole Miss all-time, but the Tigers fell to the Rebels in the last meeting on Oct. 7, falling in five sets. The Tigers have won three out of the last five matches against the Rebels.
>> Head coach Fran Flory is in her 21st season at the helm of the LSU volleyball program. The winningest coach in school history, Flory has led the Tigers to NCAA Tournament appearances in nine of the last 13 seasons.
>> LSU got back on the winning track last weekend, earning two victories at Mississippi State and Alabama. It was the first win in Tuscaloosa since the 2011 season.
>> Taylor Bannister led the Tigers with 32 kills in the two matches. She finished with 4.00 kills per set. Bannister is ranked fourth among the league in kills per set at 4.27. She is also fourth in points per set at 4.74.
>> Lindsay Flory and Whitney Foreman both picked up SEC Weekly honors, the first honor for both the senior and freshman. Flory dished out 87 assists in the two matches on the weekend, including a double-double of 53 assists and 15 digs in the win over Alabama. She helped her team to one of the best offensive weekends this season, hitting .352 for the weekend.
>> Foreman had her best weekend in a Tiger uniform, hitting .444 on the weekend. She hit .526 with 13 kills in the win over Alabama and had six blocks on the weekend.
>> Raigen Cianciulli has a career total of 898 digs, just 102 digs away from 1,000 mark. If she reaches 1,000 this season, she’ll be the fastest player to reach the 1,000 dig club in program history.
>> Cianciulli ranks second among the league in digs per set at 4.64. The Tigers also rank second in the SEC in digs per set at 15.22.
>> LSU leads the all-time series against Ole Miss, 54-18. The last time they faced the Rebels, LSU fell in five sets. The Tigers have won three out of the last five matches.
>> The Tigers enter the season with a total of 294 SEC victories, just needing two to close in on the 300 mark after Sunday’s win over Alabama.
