BATON ROUGE -- The LSU-North Texas football game, originally scheduled for September 3, has been re-scheduled for Saturday, October 29, in Tiger Stadium.
The September 3 season opener between LSU and North Texas game was postponed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
The October 29 LSU-North Texas game was made possible when two other games involving North Texas, Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe were moved to different dates.
An October 29 game between North Texas and UL-Monroe has been moved to November 19. A November 19 game between UL-Monroe and UL-Lafayette has been moved to November 26.
"Our friends in the University of Louisiana System, particularly presidents Ray Authement of UL-Lafayette and Jim Cofer of ULM, as well as North Texas President Norval Pohl, have come to our aid in making this move possible," said LSU Chancellor Sean O’Keefe. "I am appreciative of the cooperation and the UL System’s leadership in making this change possible."
"This game rounds out our schedule for 2005 and allows us to move forward with our season," said LSU athletics director Skip Bertman. "My thanks to everyone involved for their perseverance in making this happen. We now look forward to getting our home schedule underway on September 24 against Tennessee in Tiger Stadium."
