BATON ROUGE -- Three LSU football games have made Sports Illustrated’s list of Top 20 Games To Watch in 2007, according to its website, SI.com.

The LSU-Florida game, which will be played on Oct. 6 in Tiger Stadium, ranks first on the SI.com list of Top 20 Games To Watch in 2007. Last year, Florida beat the Tigers, 23-10, in Gainesville.

Of the matchup between the Tigers and Gators in Tiger Stadium, SI.com said, “the defending national champions have their work cut out for them, as Florida’s entire schedule is a minefield. But this trip to Death Valley is undoubtedly the biggest of the bunch. This could easily be a preview of the SEC title game.”

The website also picked the LSU-Virginia Tech game in Tiger Stadium on Sept. 8 as the nation’s top non-conference contest in 2007. Of the clash between the Tigers and the Hokies, SI.com said, “this is the premier non-conference clash as both teams start the season as legit national title contenders.”

The other LSU contest on the list comes on Nov. 3 when the Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama and its former head coach Nick Saban. The LSU-Alabama game rates No. 13 on the SI.com list. LSU carries a four-game winning streak over the Crimson Tide into the Alabama contest, including last year’s 28-14 victory in Tiger Stadium.

The second-ranked Tigers open their third season under Les Miles on Thursday, Aug. 30 when they travel to Starkville, Miss., to face Mississippi State in a nationally televised contest on ESPN.
