BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 44 LSU men’s tennis team (10-8, 2-5 SEC) is slated to face No. 59 South Carolina (10-10, 2-4 SEC) Friday at 5:30 p.m at the LSU Tennis Complex.
“I really feel like the guys have done a great job of getting on track and overcoming some adversity and have themselves in a much better position,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “They’re very excited about getting back on the court. Our seniors are really looking to represent them and each other.”
The Tigers took a 4-0 win over Brown on Tuesday to give them a two-match win streak after defeating SEC opponent Vanderbilt, 5-2 Sunday in Nashville.
The Gamecocks have one ranked singles player in Gabriel Friedrich at No. 93 while USC’s ranked doubles pair of Alex Fennell and Harrison O’Keefe rest at No. 73 and are 4-3 for the season.
South Carolina travels to Baton Rouge after a 4-2 win against Tennessee Sunday. This was the Gamecocks first conference win in two matches after falling to both Kentucky and Georgia.
Last year, LSU took a 4-1 loss to the Gamecocks in Columbia. The Tigers are 3-2 in their last five dual season matchups.
Fans can enjoy free pizza during Friday’s match. There will also be free LSU Tennis Complex mouse pads at the door, and students can bring their student ID to get priority points.
