Thoughts from Coach Brown
“This is another big SEC match, and it is senior day,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “We expect everyone will be fired up and ready to go.”
LSU has a 33-29-1 record against Tennessee. Last season, the Tigers defeated the Volunteers with a massive 4-3-road victory in Knoxville, Tenn.
With an 11-10 overall record on court one, Daigle sits 41st in the country in the ITA Rankings. This season, the senior has recorded five victories over ranked opponents.
Butsch is second on the team in overall wins with 22. After defeating both opponents at Auburn and at Mississippi State last weekend, the senior upped his career win total to 91 and is tied with Zak Blanchard, who played on the team from 1995-98, for the 10th-most all-time singles wins.
In their first season together, the senior duo has compiled a 16-10 overall record on court one and moved to the No. 34 doubles pair after a convincing 6-2 win against Auburn’s No. 15 doubles team.
Nikola Samardzic has 24 wins overall this season to lead the Tigers.
Notes on the Volunteers
Tennessee has an 11-13 overall record and is 2-9 in conference play. The Volunteers are coming off of wins against Alabama and Charlotte.
Timo Stodder leads the Volunteers with 22 wins this season. The sophomore is ranked 35th in the nation and has an 11-9 record on court one.
