BATON ROUGE - LSU softball's Rachele Fico and Katie Guillory spent part of their Wednesday morning at St. Alphonsus Catholic School Annual Field Day.
Each year, the school has a big field day for its students. Fico and Guillory participated in the event's opening ceremony and carried in the school's version of the Olympic torch. Afterwards, both student-athletes spoke to the children and got them ready for their field day.
For the last three years, LSU student-athletes have been involved in this event with previous participants including baseball's Trey McClure and Austin Nola.
"This event was so much fun, and the kids were so ecstatic that we came to their field day," Guillory said. "I enjoyed it just as much as the kids did. Rachele and I were very honored to be invited."
