Volleyball Makes Holiday Hospital Visit

BATON ROUGE - LSU volleyball players Desiree Elliott, Khourtni Fears, Jackie Gerig, Cati Leak, Katie Lindelow, Madi Mahaffey and Haley Smith paid a visit to a local children's hospital earlier this week to spend time with patients.

The six student-athletes went room-to-room to cheer up the patients and signed LSU volleyball posters to decorate their rooms.  

"The kids really seemed to enjoy our visit and a few of them even loved playing volleyball," freshman Katie Lindelow said. "I felt like we definitely brightened their day a little bit."

LSU's seven-year run atop the SEC Western Division came to a close during the 2012 season. The streak was the second-longest in SEC history only behind Florida's 14-year atop the SEC Eastern Division from 1995-2008. The Tigers are scheduled to return 10 letterwinners in 2013.
