SENIOR SEASON (2012-13)
Spent his time as a Tiger by striving to better the Baton Rouge community while improving in the pool each season … A team leader who was given the team’s annual Stripes Award for his contributions in the pool, classroom and community … Named one of LSU’s two finalists for the prestigious SEC Brad Davis Community Service Post-Graduate Scholarship… Named to the SEC Community Service Team for the second time in his career … Posted LSU’s fifth best all-time 200 butterfly mark of 1:47.53 in the ‘C’ final at the SEC Championships, which marked his first career points scored at the conference meet … Swam his career low in the 100 backstroke (49.17) at SEC’s … Won the consolation final of the 200 fly (1:51.45) at the Phil Hansel midseason meet … Came in second in the 200 fly (1:53.22) in a victory over Kentucky on men’s senior day … Took third in the 200 fly (1:54.36) in a dual victory over SMU … Notched a pair of fifth place finishes in the fly events against Texas A&M … Named to the 2013 SEC Academic Honor Roll … Earned his fourth varsity letter.
JUNIOR SEASON (2011-12)
A model student-athlete in the community, the classroom and the pool … Named to the 2011-12 SEC Community Service Team for his efforts in the local Baton Rouge Community … Posted the team’s third fastest 200 freestyle time of 1:39.87 and third fastest 200 butterfly time of 1:49.37 this season at the SEC Championships … Narrowly missed a final swim in the 200 fly after a 17th place finish at SEC’s … Finished his 200 IM run with a season low of 1:51.10 at SEC’s … In addition to the conference meet, competed at the Tennessee Invitational and in every dual meet … Made two ‘C’ finals for the 200 free and 200 fly at the Tennessee Invitational … Scored a valuable point in the 200 free (1:41.86) in a two point victory over Alabama … Earned his third varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2010-11)
Raced in butterfly and freestyle events and played a role in relay competition … Held the team’s second-fastest time in the 200 fly … Competed in every dual meet, Cougar Classic Invitational and SEC Championships … Registered 22nd in the 200 fly at SEC’s with a personal best and program top-10 time of 1:48.73, took 25th in the 200 free with a career best of 1:39.80 and placed 30th in the 500 free (4:35.00) … Also swam the third leg on the men’s eighth-place 800 free relay team (6:34.94) … Notched a pair of third-place finishes in the 200 free and 200 fly at the Cougar Classic and finished fifth in the 500 free … Claimed runner-up honors in the 1000 free in a victory over American … Earned his second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2009-10)
Contributed in the freestyle, backstroke and individual medley events as a freshman … Competed in every dual meet, Houston’s Cougar Classic Fall Invitational and SEC Championships … Recorded season bests in all three of his races at SEC’s … Placed 24th in the 200 back (1:50.42), 25th in the 200 free (1:39.99) and 31st in the 500 free (4:34.47) … Delivered sixth in the 200 free at the Cougar Classic … Also won the consolation final of the 500 free, took 10th in the 400 IM and registered 12th in the 200 IM … Emerged victorious in the 500 free in a win over Florida Atlantic and recorded runner-up honors in the 200 free … Named to the SEC Freshmen Academic Honor Roll … Earned his first varsity letter.
PRIOR TO LSU
A nine-time Mississippi state champion and two-time state record-holder who excelled in backstroke events … Named the state’s Most Outstanding Swimmer on nine occasions … Claims top times of 51.11 and 1:48.79 in the 100 and 200 back, respectively … Also possesses a mark of 1:40.20 in the 200 freestyle … Served as president of the student body at his high school and was a state finalist for the Wendy’s High School Heisman contest … Coached by Matt Benedict.
Born Aug. 22, 1990 in St. Louis, Mo. … Parents are Daniel and Michele Dasinger … Has one older sister, Emily and two older brothers, Danny and John Henry … Plans to major in kinesiology.
