Women's Tennis Opens SEC Play Against Vandy
BATON ROUGE, La. - The LSU Lady Tigers (7-3) will open SEC play as they host No. 12 Vanderbilt University (7-4) Friday at 3 p.m. CT at the W.T. "Dub" Robinson Stadium.
"Tomorrow's match against Vanderbilt marks the beginning of our SEC season," head coach Julia S. Sell said. "The SEC is the most competitive conference there is, and with it comes amazing rivalries and heated battles. As an athlete, this is what you train for, and we are excited to get on the court and compete."
LSU swept both Nicholls State and Grambling State, 7-0, during the Lady Tigers' second doubleheader of the season Saturday.
Freshman Ella Taylor marked two double-bagel victories on court three, tallying her third 6-0, 6-0, win this season, and the doubles pair of seniors Ebie Wilson and Keri Frankenberger are on a five-match winning streak, posting two 8-0 victories Saturday against the Nicholls Colonels and Grambling Tigers.
The Lady Tigers hold a 14-21 overall record against the Commodores.
