Women's Tennis Falls at Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The LSU Lady Tigers (6-3, 1-1 SEC) had their five-match winning streak snapped in a 7-0 final at Vanderbilt (10-4, 2-0 SEC) on Sunday.

"We ran into a buzz saw today," LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. "We had been undefeated on the road prior to today, but all credit to Vanderbilt, they played really well."

Ashleigh Antal and Lauren Mira began the day by defeating Whitney Wolf and Keri Frankenberger 8-3 on court one.

Marie Casares and Nelly Radeva then clinched the doubles point over Ariel Morton and Ebie Wilson on court three.
 
Olivia Howlett and Yvette Vlaar fell to Jackie Wu and Alex Leatu on court two to complete the doubles portion of the match.

In singles, Ebie Wilson lost to Marie Casares 6-1, 6-0 on court four. Howlett was then beaten 6-1, 6-1 on court two.

Nelly Radeva confirmed the dual match win for the Commodores with a 6-4, 6-2 result over Yvette Vlaar on court six.

Alex Leatu took out Kaitlin Burns on court three 7-5, 6-1, and Whitney Wolf went down 6-0, 6-4 on court one.
 
Ashleigh Antal defeated Keri Frankenberger6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) on court five.
 
The Lady Tigers return home next weekend for their SEC home opener against Alabama on Friday, March 9 at 3 p.m. CT.
