IRVINE, Calif. - The LSU women's tennis team (4-1) will take on UC Irvine (3-3) Monday at 3:30 p.m. CT at the UC Irvine Tennis Stadium.
"We have a great opportunity again tomorrow to play a very good UC Irvine team and build on the valuable lessons we took with us from our loss to Long Beach State," head coach Julia S. Sell said. "I'm looking for our team to trust in the process tomorrow and be disciplined in their game style."
The Lady Tigers battled Long Beach State Saturday, but faced a 5-2 loss. Mary Jeremiah and Ariel Morton notched their fourth consecutive doubles win and third straight in the top position, and seniors No. 112 Kaitlin Burns and Ebie Wilson scored LSU's two points of the day with victories in singles, making Wilson 4-0 in singles this season.
This will mark only the second matchup between No. 46 LSU and the Anteaters. The teams last faced off in 2008, and the Lady Tigers tallied a 6-1 victory.
