BATON ROUGE -- The LSU women's tennis team will begin their dual match season Saturday with a home opening double header against Northwestern State at 1 p.m. CT and Southern University at 6 p.m. CT.
"I'm very excited to kick off our spring season this weekend," head coach Julia S. Sell said. "This team has put in an incredible amount of hard work and conditioning, and now it's time to enjoy some competition."
Saturday will also serve as the LSU dual match debut for freshmen Caroline Hudson and Ella Taylor, as well as sophomore transfer Mary Jeremiah. Returning for the Lady Tigers are seniors No. 112 ranked Kaitlin Burns, Keri Frankenberger and Ebie Wilson and junior Ariel Morton.
The Lady Tigers concluded their tournament season at the Clemson Indoor Classic last weekend with each player taking home a win in either singles or doubles.
LSU's record against the Southern Jaguars is 20-0, and the Lady Tigers hold a 17-1 advantage over the Northwestern State Demons who they last met in 2007 with a 6-1 victory.
