BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU women’s tennis team (8-10; 1-7 SEC) will welcome the University of Florida (13-2; 6-1 SEC) to W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium Friday at 3 p.m. CT.
“The SEC is the strongest conference in tennis, and we have already played several top 10 teams,” head coach Julia S. Sell said. “On Friday, we will get to battle against the reigning national champions.”
LSU last competed on the road, taking on No. 37 Ole Miss Friday and Mississippi State Sunday. Freshman Ella Taylor notched wins in both singles competitions she faced, taking a 6-3, 6-1 victory over the Rebels’ No. 82 Mai El Kamash before tallying a 6-2, 6-3 win against Mississippi State’s Naomi Tran. No. 144 Kaitlin Burns also posted a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Ole Miss’ 45th-ranked Caroline Rohde-Moe in the top spot.
The Lady Tigers hold a 1-38 overall record against the Florida Gators.
