Burns Among ITA Preseason Singles Rankings

BATON ROUGE - The LSU women's tennis team placed senior Kaitlin Burns in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles rankings, the ITA announced Thursday.

Burns tied for the No. 112 spot, which she shares with Matea Cutura of DePaul University.

Wrapping up fall play at the ITA Southern Regionals, she traveled to the quarterfinal round of competition to battle the No. 30 player, Caroline Rohde-Moe of Ole Miss, after defeating the No. 59 Maya Jansen of Alabama the round before.

The women's tennis team also earned a spot in the top 75 teams, taking the No. 45 position.

The Lady Tigers will kick off their spring season at the Clemson Indoor Classic on Jan. 18-20, followed by their home opening doubleheader against Northwestern St. and Southern University on Jan. 26.
