Women's Tennis to Host No. 12 Tennessee
BATON ROUGE - The LSU women's tennis team (9-6, 2-2 SEC) resumes Southeastern Conference play against No. 12 Tennessee (11-6, 2-2 SEC) on Friday at W.T. Dub Robinson Stadium with play beginning at 3 p.m. CT.
"We need to carry the momentum we got from the Ohio State match to try and look forward to getting after Tennessee," LSU head coach Tony Minnis said.
The Lady Tigers have won two-straight, including a 4-2 victory over Ohio State on Tuesday. Yvette Vlaar and Olivia Howlett earned singles victories to break a 2-2 stalemate, clinching the match for LSU.
The international duo also won the first completed doubles match of the day, their third victory in-a-row as a pair. They have gone 7-3 in their most recent 10 doubles appearances together.
Whitney Wolf and Keri Frankenberger scored a doubles triumph on Tuesday, and they have now vanquished eight of their past 10 opponents.
Kaitlin Burns is 7-10 in her last 10 completed performances. She did not finish her match against Ohio State, as rain began to fall before the final set with the match's outcome already determined.
LSU holds a 12-24 all-time record against Tennessee.
