BATON ROUGE -- The Lady Tigers (3-0) will face Tulane (2-1) Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. CT at the Goldring Tennis Center, marking LSU's first road match of the season.
"We have seen Tulane a lot already this year at various fall tournaments, and I have been really impressed with their roster," head coach Julia S. Sell said. "They have a good combination of talent and aggressive competitors. Their coach has done an excellent job of rebuilding the program after Hurricane Katrina, and I think this is one of the best Tulane teams ever."
In the Lady Tigers' last outing, the team met SMU at the "Dub" Saturday and came back from early Mustang success to take the match 4-3. Junior Ariel Morton played a key role in LSU's success, as she went 2-0 for the day, winning her debut match in the No. 1 doubles position with sophomore Mary Jeremiah and notched a third-set singles win that gave momentum to the courts still in play.
No. 46 LSU holds a 31-4 advantage in the all-time matchup against the Green Wave, and the Lady Tigers tallied a 6-1 victory when the teams last met in 2012.
