ORLANDO, Fla. -- The LSU Cheerleaders finished sixth in the Division IA team competition at the 2008 UCA College Cheerleading National Championships held at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla.

“This year's competition was the closest in years," LSU Cheerleading Coach Pauline Zernott said. "We had a great routine. It was clean and fun to watch. Our cheer, as last year, was one of the highlights of the competition. We finished less than one point away from fourth place. I am very proud of our team and the way we represented LSU.”

In 2007, LSU finished fifth in the nation.
