BATON ROUGE - Over 30 student-athletes from LSU's volleyball and track and field teams participated in Live 2 Serve's Life 2 Play program Wednesday evening.

Jacob Nichols started Live 2 Serve two years ago. The mission of Live 2 Serve is to bring aid to children living in poverty in the LSU and Downtown Baton Rouge area. Wednesday night's program, Live 2 Play, gave those children the chance to play with LSU student-athletes and other volunteers.

"I was amazing by the way the LSU athletes came and interacted with the children," Nichols said. "I was told by some of the the children that playing basketball with the LSU athletes was the highlights of their lives, I could not have asked for a more perfect evening of Live 2 Play."

"It was nice to see the smiles on the children's faces," track and field's Joseph Caraway said. "It lets you know you made a difference to them and that's why I think I had more fun than the kids."

Reaction from other Student-Athletes:
"Tonight I really enjoyed hanging out with the kids who could possibly be future Tigers and Lady Tigers." - Montenae Roye-Speight
"I really enjoyed playing with and getting to know some of the kids. They're great kids. I look forward to hanging out with them again." - Philip Dempsey
