Chase Kreitler enters his first year with LSU after serving as an assistant coach and graduate assistant for Eastern Michigan the past two seasons.
While at Eastern Michigan, the swimming and diving program won back-to-back Mid-American Conference Championships in 2012 and 201. The combined men’s and women’s programs also broke 20 team records. Kreitler also coached two-time All American Jacob Hanson.
While in Michigan, Kreitler also coached for the nationally renowned USA Swimming team, Club Wolverine. In the summer of 2013, he helped lead Club Wolverine to a first place team finish at the Central Zone Sectional Meet.
Prior to Eastern Michigan, Kreitler spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Cal State Bakersfield men’s program. During his two years working with sprinters, CSUB swimmers broke 10 team records. During the 2010-11 season, the team won the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation conference title.
Kreitler also spent the summer of 2011 in Fort Collins, Colo., as a co-director and coach at the Athletes in Action Colorado Swim Project. He trained collegiate athletes during an eight week high-altitude training camp.
Kreitler swam at California State Bakersfield from 2005-2009 where he was a co-captain as a senior and was named outstanding student in student exercise science.
Kreitler, a native of Valley Village, Calif., completed his undergraduate degree in exercise science from California State University, Bakersfield in 2009. He is currently finishing his master’s degree in exercise physiology.
