Nistrup in Contention at Tar Heel After 65

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Freshman Caroline Nistrup fired a second round 5-under par round for the second straight tournament Saturday to move into second place entering Sunday’s final round of the Ruth’s Chris Lady Tar Heel Invitational.

After shooting a second round of 65 last Sunday in the Schooner Invite, Nistrup Saturday rattled off a 5-under 67 to lead the Lady Tigers and move into a tie for second place at 4-under 140 (73-67). She is three shots off the lead of Ashlan Ramsey of Clemson who has posted rounds of 68-69 for a 7-under 137.

Nistrup is tied for second with Laetitia Beck of Duke at 4-under 140 (69-71).

The LSU team posted a 10-over par round of 298 and is now at 17-over for two rounds and in 15th place at 593 (295-298). Duke stormed to the lead with a round of -6 and is at 568 for two rounds (8-under par).
