LJUBJANA, Slovenia – LSU women's golfer Madelene Sagstrom helped her country of Sweden to victory in the first flight consolation semifinals of the 2014 European Golf Association's Ladies Amateur Team Championship Friday at the Golf and Country Club of Ljubjana.

Sagstrom helped the Swedish team to a 3-2 win over Germany and Sagstrom, who will be a senior at LSU this fall, beat Antonia Scherer 1 UP. It was her third match of the event that ended 1UP with Sagstrom winning both her singles matches so far.

In the “B” flight, Belgium was a 3-2 winner over Denmark as LSU women's golfer Caroline Nistrup of Denmark lost a 1DOWN decision to Belgium's Manon DeRoey.

Also in that flight, Scotland scored a 4.5-0.5 win over Austria, but LSU's Nadine Dreher did get the half point in an 18-hole tie with Connie Jaffrey.

The final set of matches to determine final places are on Saturday.
