Women's Golf Travels to Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. – The LSU women’s golf team gets another shot to continue its season long improvement as it starts its final regular season competition on Friday at the Rebel Intercollegiate at the Ole Miss Golf Course.
The 54-hole event runs through Sunday.
LSU moved up five more places in the Golfstat rankings after its third place showing in the LSU Tiger Golf Classic and now stands 25th in the country entering the Rebel Intercollegiate. LSU is also 25th in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index as well entering the event.
Joining LSU and host Ole Miss in the tournament are: Baylor, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State University, Furman, Harvard, Kentucky, Memphis, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, Murray State, Ole Miss, Redlands CC, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulane, and Tulsa.
LSU will use its team lineup from the last few events of Madelene Sagstrom (72.55 stroke average), Lindsay Gahm (74.45), Ali Lucas (76.18), Elise Bradley (77.18) and Nadine Dreher (77.35). Katrina Hegge (79.44) will also play in the tournament as an individual participant.
Sagstrom is presently ranked 14th in the Golfstat rankings coming into the tournament after three top five performances this year, including back-to-back second place finishes in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate and the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.
Gahm, who has one top 10in the Liz Murphey NCAA Fall Preview, is also ranked in the top 100 in the country in the Golfstat rankings at No. 97.
“We are looking forward to getting back on the course this weekend,” said LSU Coach Karen Bahnsen. “Again we want to continue to get better and improve each day as we prepare for the SEC Tournament and the NCAAs.”
LSU and Ole Miss will play in the first wave on Friday morning off the No. 1 tee along with Baylor beginning at 9:51 a.m. CDT.
