NEW ORLEANS - It was an easy decision for the tournament officials of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Monday to cancel play and try to get a final 18 holes of play in on Tuesday, making the tournament now a 36-hole event.

The Lady Tigers are in eighth place after Sunday's first round after shooting a score of 3-over 291.

The final round will now begin on Tuesday at 8 a.m. with all players on the course in a shotgun round.

During the night, the English Turn Golf and Country Club was hit by severe thunderstorms that produced high winds and close to three inches of rain, and brought dime-sized hail to the course.  The clean-up for Tuesday's second round is underway and despite more rain during the day on Monday, the course is expected to be ready for the final round.

Live scoring of the final round will be available at LSUsports.net through Golfstatresults.com.
