Women's Golf Set for Final Fall Event

BATON ROUGE - The LSU women's golf team will play its final golf tournament of the fall season as it makes its first appearance in the Alamo Invitational starting Sunday at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course (par 72, 6,248 yards).

The event begins at 11 a.m. Sunday and continues through Tuesday for the 54-hole event.

Joining host Texas-San Antonio and LSU in the event are Baylor, Colorado, East Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, North Texas, Oklahoma, SMU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas State and Tulane.

Junior Lindsay Gahm in the Liz Murphey and sophomore Madelene Sagstrom in the Lady Tar Heel have each posted top 10 finishes for the Lady Tigers and will lead LSU into this final tournament.

The Lady Tiger duo will be joined by freshman Nadine Dreher and Elise Bradley and junior Ali Lucas. This will be the second consecutive tournament that this quintet has teed off for LSU.

"We continue to work to improve each time we step on the golf course,' said LSU Head Coach Karen Bahnsen. "It's a long season and the girls have been working very hard on their games."

This is the fourth year for this event and UTSA is the defending team champion.

LSU will tee off beginning at 11:40 a.m. along with Kentucky and Baylor.
