Lady Tigers 20th After Day 2 at NCAA Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. – The LSU women’s golf team was unable to move closer to the qualifying mark for the NCAA Women’s Championships and now stands in 20th place going into Saturday’s final round of the NCAA Central Regional at the Karsten Creek Golf Course.

The Lady Tigers posted a 25-over par 313 and stands at 46-over par 622 going into play on Saturday. LSU will be in the final wave of the tournament beginning at 12:55 p.m. CDT.

Going into play Saturday, there is a tie for eighth place, the final qualifying spot for the Championships at 20-over par 596 by Mississippi State and host Oklahoma State. The top seven are UCLA at 12-over 588, followed by California (589), Florida and Alabama (592), Ohio State (593), Kent State (594) and Arizona at 595.

The cut number only went up six shots from Thursday’s opening round at +14 to the end of play on Friday to +20.

Junior Madelene Sagstrom had the best round of the day for LSU at 2-over par 74 to stand at 7-over 151 after 36 holes and in a tie for 42nd place. Senior Lindsey Gahm posted a 79 and LSU also counted 80s from freshman Caroline Nistrup and senior Ali Lucas.
