BATON ROUGE - As LSU's student-athletes finish up the 2012 fall semester with finals week this week, the Tiger golfers head into the winter break as a consensus Top 15 program in the national rankings on the strength of their performance throughout the fall campaign.

The Tigers are ranked as high as No. 12 nationally in the last Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index of the fall season, while they are also ranked No. 13 in the Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches' Top 25 and No. 15 in the Golfstat Top 25 that have also been released in recent weeks.

Highlighted by back-to-back tournament titles at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate (Sept. 24-15) and David Toms Intercollegiate (Oct. 6-7), LSU also tied for fourth place in their season opener at the Carpet Capital Collegiate Classic (Sept. 7-9) and tied for eighth place in its finale at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 21-23) while compiling a 34-10-2 mark against elite competition.

Anchoring the lineup are three standouts who finished the fall season ranked among the premier players at the college level. Sophomore Curtis Thompson is No. 31, sophomore Stewart Jolly is No. 37 and junior All-SEC performer Andrew Presley is No. 51 in the Golfweek individual rankings.

After wrapping up the fall season at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 23, the Tigers are off for their annual midseason break before returning to action from Feb. 18-19 at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate being held at Magnolia Grove Falls Golf Club in Mobile, Ala.
