"Hey Tiger Fans!
We were so excited to open our season last weekend. Personally, I could not sit still in class on Friday knowing our first game was just hours away. We played some great teams and had a rocky start with Penn State and Michigan but ended up 2-2 for the weekend. Not exactly what we hoped for but glad we finished strong!
This week our Wednesday night game against Florida State was rescheduled for April 17 due to weather so I am so ready for Friday, our first travel day of the semester. This will be my first road trip with the team and what an awesome place to go, Vegas! I have heard so much from my teammates about how fun road trips are from people bringing stuffed animals to dance competitions. I have never been to Las Vegas so I'm really excited to see all the fancy hotels and the strip with all the lights. Also, I'm excited to see how our coaches are with road trips and learning how to adjust to that as well.
My family has been to Vegas many times, and they have all told me there is no place like it. We are flying out on Friday and coming back Sunday. I don't expect us to do much as tourists, but just being there is going to be an amazing experience.
Our schedule this weekend looks just as tough as it did last weekend, but I know we will be ready. Our games on Saturday are against DePaul and Cal State Northridge. On Sunday, we play Cal, a Women's College World Series team from last year, and Utah State. The weekend is definitely going to be a challenge. We have been working hard, and we plan to come up with some big W's!"
