LSU Unveils 2013 Softball Promotions Schedule

BATON ROUGE - The LSU marketing department has revealed its softball promotions schedule for the upcoming 2013 campaign at Tiger Park.

For a full listing of season-long and single-game promotions, visit www.LSUsports.net/promotions. Posters, schedule cards and game programs will all be available every game free of charge at the Tiger Fan Zone located on the concourse. Fans also can line the left field fence on the berm following each game to receive autographs of their favorite Tigers.

LSU will play host to its second-annual "Strikeout Ovarian Cancer Teal Game" when Missouri visits Tiger Park on April 20. The Tigers will wear special teal jerseys to support ovarian cancer survivors, and the first 1,000 fans will secure at teal rally towel. Before the game, LSU will honor ovarian cancer survivors. Those survivors interested in participating can contact Lauren at ltaylor@lsu.edu.

Special individual game-by-game promotions get underway with "Trading Card Night" scheduled for March 13 against Nicholls State. The first 750 fans will receive the 24-card set which features the entire 2013 team and coaching staff.

LSU begins its 12-game SEC home schedule with a weekend series versus Kentucky from March 15-17. Friday's series opener will mark the program's annual "Gold Game" where all fans in attendance are encouraged to wear gold to support the Tigers.

On Saturday, the first 500 fans can pick up a commemorative lapel pin honoring the Tigers run to the 2012 Women's College World Series. As part of "Geaux Green Day" at the park, the first 750 fans will take home color changing stadium cups for St. Patrick's Day.

The Tigers will have a pair of "Student Point" contests against Georgia Southern on March 19 and versus Missouri on April 19. In addition to $1 tickets for "Pack the Park" for the Missouri series opener on April 19, the first 1,000 fans will receive a koozie. 

LSU faculty and staff are encouraged to come out and support the Tigers against South Carolina on March 22 as part of "Teacher Appreciation Night". The first 500 fans will add a softball pennant to their collection. "Dads and Daughters" day at the ballpark is scheduled for March 23, and the first 500 fans will collect a bat pens.

A new promotion for the 2013 season is "Kids Day at Tiger Park Beach" scheduled for the March 30 twinbill versus Samford where 750 pairs of sunglasses will be given away. There also will inflatables, games and much more on-hand for a day of fun in the sun for kids and families.

Always a fan favorite, LSU will hold its annual "Bark in the Park" event versus Missouri on April 21. Fans can enjoy Tiger softball with their furry friends.

One of the most anticipated events at Tiger Park each season is "Family Day" and "Senior Day" which will be held during the Alabama series on April 27. The first 500 fans will come away with a foam claw.

LSU is eight days away from 2013 opening weekend where the Tigers will play host to Hampton, No. 22 North Carolina, Purdue and Tulsa as part of the Tiger Classic from February 8-10.

Season tickets can be purchased for $75 at www.LSUtix.net for a marquee home schedule that features 15 games against 2012 NCAA Tournament participants. The Tigers also will welcome defending national champion Alabama along with Kentucky, Missouri and South Carolina for three-game SEC series.
