BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The No. 10 LSU softball team will appear five times on national television during the 2013 season as announced Monday by the SEC office.
A trio of games will be a part of the SEC on ESPN package. LSU's series opener versus defending national champion and preseason No. 1 Alabama has been moved to Thursday, April 25 with a 7 p.m. first pitch to accommodate ESPN2. The Tigers also will appear on ESPN during road games against Texas A&M on April 13 and against Georgia on May 5. The new start times for those contests are 2:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. CT, respectively.
Every game of the SEC Tournament from May 8-11 will be televised by the ESPN family of networks for the fourth consecutive season. A pair of opening round games on Wednesday, all four of Thursday's quarterfinals and both of Friday's semifinals will air on ESPNU. Saturday's championship game at 7 p.m. CT will be carried on ESPN2 from the UK Softball Complex on the University of Kentucky campus.
As part of the SEC's regional television package, LSU's series finale at Texas A&M on April 14 has been pushed back to 12:30 p.m. CT in College Station and will be picked up by Fox Sports Network (FSN).
The middle game of the Georgia series on May 4 has been moved up to Noon CT first pitch in Athens to accommodate Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS).
At a later date, LSU will have five home games selected by Cox Sports Television in conjunction with LSU Sports Properties. CST, a regional sports network based out of New Orleans, has access to two million homes across seven states. CST is cable channel 37 and available in HD on channel 1037 in the Baton Rouge market.
LSU is four days away from 2013 opening weekend where the Tigers will play host to Hampton, No. 22 North Carolina, Purdue and Tulsa as part of the Tiger Classic from February 8-10.
Season tickets can be purchased for $75 at www.LSUtix.net for a marquee home schedule that features 15 games against 2012 NCAA Tournament participants. The Tigers also will welcome defending national champion Alabama along with Kentucky, Missouri and South Carolina for three-game SEC series.
