BATON ROUGE - Fresh of its run to the 2012 Women's College World Series, the LSU softball program has installed new graphics at Tiger Park. The graphics were designed by Forty Nine Degrees Experience Design based out of Ohio.
"These graphics are one of the many ways our program is committed to keeping Tiger Park as the nation's state-of-the-art softball facility," head coach Beth Torina said. "One of our goals is to celebrate our program's decorated past. We're extremely excited for our fans to see these new additions to the ball park."
The Tiger Park Clubhouse has received a complete makeover as new graphics are now in the coaches' office and film room.
The wall graphic in the coaches' office features five images on the left-hand side spotlighting memorable moments from the 2012 season. There is an individual shot of Ashley Langoni after she caught the final out of the NCAA Columbia Super Regional and of former All-American Brittany Mack's signature fist-pump after LSU eliminated South Florida at the Women's College World Series.
The right-side of the graphic has group shots of 2001 and 2004 WCWS squads, respectively, flanked by the three WCWS trophies on display and three newspaper headlines from the Baton Rouge Advocate.
The film room wall graphic has added a 2012 WCWS acrylic panel with a team photo taken after LSU's NCAA Columbia Super Regional victory. The left side of the panel lists all 22 players, coaching staff and support staff of the 2012 Tigers.
In the clubhouse's hallway, player profile panels have been installed for the seven newcomers to the 2013 roster in addition an acrylic panel commemorating Rachele Fico's NFCA All-America campaign. Fico also has been added to the All-American display located above the party deck on the third base side.
The Tiger Park Concourse has two new banners. In addition to a 2012 WCWS panel, Mack is highlighted with her own graphic after being selected as the number one pick of the 2012 National Pro Fastpitch draft and the 2012 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
LSU finished its inaugural season under Torina with a 40-25 record and made the program's third appearance at the Women's College World Series. It marked the 14th time in 16 seasons that the Tigers finished with at least 40 victories since softball was reinstated in 1997.
LSU is slated to return 14 letterwinners for the 2013 campaign sparked by Fico along with All-SEC Freshman pick A.J. Andrews.
