BATON ROUGE -- Sophomore outfielder Jarred Bogany has been granted a release from the LSU baseball program, and he will seek a transfer to another school, coach Paul Mainieri said Monday.

“We wish Jarred well, and we hope he experiences success at the school of his choice,” Mainieri said. “In order to reach the goals we have established for our program, we need to have players who are sincerely committed to enhancing the great tradition of LSU Baseball. We will continue to recruit and develop players who are dedicated to achieving the same goals.”

Bogany, a product of George Bush High School in Houston, played in 49 of LSU’s 59 games last season as a centerfielder. He batted .319 (52-for-163) with six doubles and 16 RBI.
